quit, quite, quiet

1. quitは短母音です。

• Informal – 仕事や学校から永久に離れること。

• Informal – to stop doing something: She drinks so much, she could never quit now.

• Formal – to leave a place: notice to quit (=an official order to leave a place within a certain time).To be a place in the same time: 彼らの家主は彼らにquitの通知を与えた。 quiteはquitより長い音ですが、それでも1音節です。
